Untold stories of leadership
Once upon a time there lived four men named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it but Everybody was sure that Somebody will do it, Anybody could have done it. Now Somebody got angry because it was Everybody job. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody and Nobody did the job that Anybody could have done in the first place.
This is the summary of the untold stories about leadership. “There is no great agony than bearing an untold story inside you” Maya Angelou stated.
We hold big seminars on how to be an effective leader many stories and articles have been published on how to be an effective leader yet no one talks about the facet of followers. The stories of our leaders never made it out of the individual minds, some went cold as they were being told, their pains and challenges were kept in silence only to be uncovered by the researcher under the cover of anonymity provided by purposeful research
We want the leader who can solve our sanitation problems when we are the cause of our own filth, we crave for the perfect guy who can eliminate corruption when we need favors ourselves. We complain of low income yet we have decided to raise a football team without planning
The task of the national building without a doubt is a task for everyone. The shared opinion of great leaders all over reflects a common idea that nations are meaningfully developed when everyone is ignited and take active roles in building a balanced state. Unfortunately, however, the entire task of the national building is left to the government of the country alone instead of it being the responsibility of everyone. Although it cannot be denied that the bulk of the responsibility lies on the government
We want to be like the white we compare our leaders to their leaders but what we have failed to know is that the leaders together with the people made the United States of America, not the leaders alone
Instead of praising and promoting our very own apostle Sarfo Kantanka we run and chase after Mercedes and Range Rovers
The good plan network of roads and the international airport in Accra and one of the highest standard of living in Africa are enough achievements that the average Ghanaian should be proud of
Instead, we are busy counting the fault of our leaders. Sometimes in life, if you want to lead the orchestra you have to turn your back on the crowd but the most important thing is that everyone can join in the singing everyone cannot be satisfied with the cake but at least everyone will get a piece of the cake
Rules and regulations are laid down by the leaders and we flaunt them
Let me put it in this way the leaders say ‘A’ and we do the letter after Z if only there was. Ladies and gentlemen the leaders have done enough but without appreciation, we want more than Oliver Twist we expect mountains to move without carrying stones. I am sorry to announce that, cows do not produce milk you have to fight for every drop. The fight is not meant for the leaders alone but a collective effort between the leader and the follower. Thinking and feeling I will always say do not produce action but action produces thinking and feeling. Ladies and gentlemen we can build the tower of Babel, we can have a strong state built by you and I. But if we together with our leaders do nothing anytime the sun humbly greets, soon the rain will play hide and seek with our lives. Yes we can
